About us

TFS was founded in 2004 by two knowledgeable and passionate hobbyists, whose mission is to offer hi-color interesting quality fish with sound genetics at a fair price to the Canadian market.

Our main focus has been on the breeding of lake Tanganyikan cichlids, apistogrammas, corydoras, killiefish, plecos and many other interesting species of fish.

In 2005, we opened up another 800 square feet facility and started importing fish from the four corners of the world. 60 per cent of our imports are fish that are known as “bread and butter stock” such as tetras, gouramis, goldfish, corydoras species, live bearers, etc. The rest of our stock is derived from our breeding program and also from wild caught fish from Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Asia and Africa. We have also started bringing in aquatic plants and over-feeder goldfish to accommodate our clients with a wider selection.

We continuously search for new species, color variant, suppliers and breeders to ensure the constant interest of both yours and our customers. We work closely with breeders located all over the world and many right here in our own backyard. We specialize in breeding and importing only interesting colourful species so you can have a few fantasy fish in your tanks to entice your customers all at a fair price.
